Beautifully written

Your book is beautiful and as I am originally from NZ love reading your stories. My husband has been undergoing treatment for Cancer so I have been unable to cook spicy food, but looking forward to soon being able to try some of the recipes. Many thanks for a very special book
I love your cookbook. Especially the vegetarian section for me. I have made your tindora and okra recipes. They carry childhood memories of waiting outside the kitchen for my grandmother to serve up lunch. Your recipes don't have large lists of ingredients but they are so delicious. I am cooking your lamb curry this coming weekend. Thank you for sharing your recipes.

We’e created a two variations on a 3 course lunch for 6 friends from just a few recipes and both were simply stunning, even if we do say so ourselves ;-) Like all the very best meals, we added a few of our own twists, (Persian Fairy Floss to our dessert, for example), but rest assured we stuck to 90% of your recipes and our guests were flabbergasted at the taste spectrum and delighted with the depth of flavours in every element of the lunch. The recipes are so straight forward, and I have really enjoyed going through the book and marking with what to cook. This book is one that I have put on display and recently my friend was over for lunch, and she was very impressed with crumbed masala chicken which I had cooked from the book. I love the content of the book and the explanations about the Indian pantry and the Indian kitchen. This book is amazing and I thank you and your mother for sharing your recipes :)

A beautifully produced book with stunning photography and clear text. Almost a coffee table book as much as a cookbook. I'm still reading through it and recognising many dishes from my travels in India. This is really something special.

We love Indian food, and have quite a few vegetarian cookbooks. I saw this one, and even tho it’s not fully vegetarian, there are a lot of vegetarian recipes so I bought it as a gift for my son. The photos, layout and recipe selections are great, and inspiring. Im sure my son will love this book and so I’m looking forward to being invited for dinner.
A little disappointing for the price. Not many recipes really interested me. Lots of snack type recipes. Was hoping for more dinner recipes

Authentic and easy to follow and be inspired
simplistic recipies - aimed at first time cook. not what i was after. always end up augmenting the flavours / spices and adding more to make it actually taste . I'll hand it down to my son when he starts cooking thanks

Gujarati food is often lighter on spice than many other Indian cuisines. It's built on balance, a little sweet, a little sour, gentle heat, and spices used to lift the vegetables and lentils rather than cover them. Our recipes are written the way they're are cooked in our own home, but please adjust the spices to suit your taste, that's how each family makes a recipe its own. We love that you'll be handing it down to your son. There's no better way to start cooking than with home-style family recipes, and we hope he enjoys them and the simple way to learn.

The recipe pictures do look good. Only feedback that I would give is that the font size is way too small for a good sized recipe book! With the font size so small, I am struggling too read it. Hence it's just sitting there looking pretty and not used. If I had known of the font size, I would not have purchased the book.
